Chapala Authentic Mexican Restaurant and Grill in Fort Walton Beach

If you want good, AUTHENTIC Mexican food this is your place. This is the second time I have been and have been very pleased both times. The atmosphere is great and so is the service, albeit a little slow. The food is amazing. I have the fajita taco salad bowl, my husband had the steak fajitas and mother in law had the chicken salad. Last time we came we had the sopes and gorditas. Have been very impressed with all the food. Would highly recommend this place.

Great service. Strong drinks. Flavorful food. The pork, in particular, is excellent - lots of flavor.

Service was a little slow. Overall the food was pretty good.... Mmmm very good... And once you order it seemed to come out pretty quick.... and very good prices. 👍👌

We've been here several times, and I have to say it was better tonight than ever before. I don't know if they got a new cook or what, but the food was delicious.

I used to be a regular here for years. I always loved the food and the waiters were always very kind, some of the waitresses had serious attitude problems but I kept coming. I Eventually felt comfortable enough to dine here alone, even drink here alone, and just make friendly chitchat with the workers who I would usually chat up and they seemed more than happy to do that. I realized why though when one of them started to get handsy with me Despite saying I was uncomfortable. I will never go back there every again.

Got the Chapala Nachos, and they were so good! Would probably get them without the chicken next time, because it had a weird taste. Other than that, the service was quick & the place was clean.

Well lets start off with the fact the menus were so dirty I didnt wanna touch them ,the food was ok not very impressive, and the service was so so.

The food is muy delicioso (very delicious). The service is awesome! The waiters & waitress speak English and Spanish.

What a bad dinner, had 8 people and one more showed up after we ordered. He never got his meal, our waitress was overwhelmed. Several customers around us left. Mean while not one manager was to be found. Spent over a hour trying to get check from waitress.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff! The chimichangas were excellent and the margaritas were awesome!! We will definitely be back!!

Food was pretty good. I enjoyed my dish, but the restaurant had a powerful smell that made my wife feel sick to her stomach, so she barely touched her food.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food this is the place to visit .Our server was very helpful and attentive. They sure have clean restrooms ! And my piña colada was perfect.

The waiter was very attentive. He was timely and the food was great! The margaritas were so good and the chips and limes were fresh. We will definitely be visiting again.

Large portions of food for a good price. Split a meal with your squeeze, or else you'll be coming home with a to-go box

Had lunch there today. Got a lot of food for the price. Was very happy with food. Not so much on the drinks. They didn't have mint for the mojitos and they didn't have millerlite. But overall I would recommend this place.

Place was good our waiter was a little strong toned and not all the pleasant but wasn't a bad visit either.

Planned on going to the Italian restaurant nearby, but it was packed so we came here instead—what a great decision that was. The food was excellent, they were practicing social distancing and had someone sanitizing the menus, and our server was great. Would definitely recommend this place to someone looking for a great meal in the area, especially if you like Mexican food.

It was ok, could be better though.Got the deluxe bed burrito, which i was not impressed by at all. The cheese sauce it's smothered in was good, but the rest was just a thin tortilla with straight up beef and lettuce on top. The beef wasn't even flavorful, tasted like that goop they jam into the same burrito at taco Bell.My gf ordered the fajita bowl however, and seems she made the right call. That was delicious. Like seriously, everything about that dish tasted pretty good, i was a bit jealous.They don't have any specials for food on Tuesday either... Ie taco Tuesday. BUT they do have buy one get free margaritas!!They also do have military discount too.

Excellent restaurant, food and service. The moment we sat we were served chips and salsa and our drink order was taken. Our food was superb. Best rice and chicken I have had at a Mexican restaurant. My wife liked her gorditas although she did say she has had them better. The flan was good as well. I was very impressed with the speed of service. They do not charge for refills as I read in a prior review. The price of the meals was low. A must visit restaurant.

Well we aren’t getting food from here again. We ordered to-go meals and I bit down on two rocks in my beans. So they obviously aren’t sorting/washing their pinto beans! GROSS! I could have broke my tooth. Thanks for that.

The restaurant was clean, the service was great. I never had to wait to get a refill on any drink that I ordered. The food was filling and was served in good portions.

Love this place. Love their food! The food here is amazing and fresh. The rice is killer and their burrito supreme was out of this world! I tried their spicy salsa and wow it's hot but delish!

This has to be the best Mexican restaurant in the area! We discovered in a couple of years ago and it is very very good! The food is excellent and the service is just outstanding! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Ordered to go on Valentine's day. I live right next door and the lady on the phone says ten minutes. I walk over fifteen minutes later she tells me rudely that they haven't even started my food. I proceeded to wait another twenty minutes and am told I can't even sit at the bar to wait I have to stand over by the door. I would have ordered drinks but what everrr.. my food finally comes out and the girl has the audacity to ask why I didn't tip her. Waste your money elsewhere because I wont be back. Customer service is key and they simply dont have any.

Food was average...service was lackadaisical...messed up our order and didn't even offer to fix it or discount price. The Niceville location was much better if you need to choose which one to go to.

The Carnitas were on par and the chips W/ salsa were deliciously addicting. There is also a full bar with many margarita options.

Cold beer & good (free) salsa. Margaritas are good. We shared the chalupa quesadilla with guacamole salad. The kids enjoyed their chicken quesadillas and beef tacos.

First time there the food was good. Excellent salsa and chips. Margarita was good also. Server started out grumpy, actually thought about leaving, but his attitude changed so we stayed. Glad we did, plan on going back soon. Nice atmosphere

I’m from Houston and Mexican, so maybe my expectations are high, but this is not authentic Mexican food. The tortillas are store bought and not good at all. Our food was ok. I got the seafood platter, not good, but not terrible. They had 2 margaritas for the price of 1, barf! After I left, I was super nauseous. On top of the food not being great, we waited about an hour for our food to come out. I would not recommend for anyone coming for vacation.

This is our go-to Mexican, we have eaten there several times, and have always enjoyed.

THIS IS THE BEST MEXICAN PLACE IN THE DESTIN AREA!Everything is good and the service is always extremely fast.You should make this a must have on your trip to Destin.The tongue tacos are awesome if you are feeling adventurous!

Our server was AWSEOME! Exceptional customer service! The food not so much. They need to up their food quality cause it's poor.

Terrible management experience. Shorthanded and unable to manage staff to accommodate customer needs. Our waitress was overwhelmed and no help was offered even after bringing it to management attention twice. Their idea of dealing with a dissatisfied customer was blaming the waitress, who was taking orders serving and working the bar. The entire time no manager came out to assist, a hostess sat at the front desk never moved or even tried to help even after bringing it to her attention, her actual response to me was "it's not my job". It took almost an hour to get our check and pay. Very sad..

Very good Mexican restaurant. The chips come to the table hot, and the salsa doesn't have big chunks of tomatoes and had a nice flavor. I had the lunch fajitas for under 11 bucks, and it was a huge serving and comes on a sizzling plate with rice and beans. Our server did a nice job of making sure our needs were met. Recommended!

We love Chapala.. it's the best Mexican food we've found in the area!
